The 📚 Médiathèque Ange Abrate in Sallanches opened its doors to the public on a ☔️ rainy morning in March 2018 . . .

The new médiathèque is spacious, with a very open-plan, bright and modern style of architecture.

Section Adulte

The Section Adulte is located on the ground floor, where you will also find 💻 15 mulitimedia spots, for users to connect to the internet (with their own computers) for free.

Espace Jeunesse & L’Heure du Conte

The 🌈 Espasse Jeunesse, furnished with colourful beanbags and rugs, and the 📚 Salle de l’Heure du Conte are located upstairs (with 🚾 located nearby, very practical!).

📚 storytime for children takes place on Wednesdays (divided into age groups) and one Saturday per month (for the little ones) in the dedicated Salle de l’Heure du Conte;

some Wednesday at 10h30 – for 3 to 4 year olds;

some Wednesday at 15h30 – for children 5+ years;

one Saturday per month at 10h30 – for tiny ones (18 months to 3 years);

The 📚 Médiathèque Ange Abrate also puts on special 🎥 films and theatre for children . . . there is a special room – La Salle Polyvalente – to host these special events;

The section of the médiathèque dedicated to 🎵 music & cinema is located on the upper floor, next to the Espace Jeunesse.

A little history: Ange Abrate

🎨 Ange Abrate, the landscape painter, writer and alpinist, was born in Turin in 1900, but lived in Sallanches and died in his adopted town in 1985.
