🏔 Le Pays du Mont-Blanc has THREE ⛸ indoor ice-skating rinks that are 🗓 open all year round, and so are good places to head to escape the heat or rain during the summer months, as well as to visit in the wintertime! In addition, during the ❄️ winter holiday season, there are several ⛸ seasonal outdoor ice-skating rinks (usually set up right in the centre of towns 🏔 au Pays du Mont-Blanc), that open for a limited period; these are full of festive fun, sometimes next to 🎄 a Christmas market and with mulled wine to keep any spectator (rather than active ice-skaters!) adults warm! Both indoor and outdoor options are well-equipped for small children, as they offer sliding chairs and other skating aids like penguins & seals, and attachable skates.
This post highlights the ⛸ indoor ice-skating rinks in:
- Chamonix;
- Saint-Gervais-les-Bains;
- Le Palais, Megève;
. . . for seasonal offerings (updated each year), please see separate post.
NB – don’t forget to wrap up warmly and protectively: waterproof clothing (ski suits work well!), helmets and gloves!
