A couple of summers ago, on ☀ a very hot day, I finally ventured to 💦 Arly-Plage for some river fun with the boys . . .
We’d visited 🌈 the Base de Loisirs des Belles several times, and we’d been ⛷ skiing in Praz-sur-Arly, but we’d never gone for 💦 a paddle and a splash around in the shallow Arly river!
Arly-Plage: splashing fun
The 💦 Arly river runs through Praz-sur-Arly, and it is shallow enough for small children to paddle about! (disclaimer: NEVER leave children unattended next to water!).
You’ll find two sections of the river particularly suitable for young children: 🏖 Arly-Plage. Here, you’ll find grey sand for digging, and pebbles a-plenty!
My two boys spent hours here, pretending that they were 🏞🐊 Amazon explorers and carrying out scientific experiments (ie which flip-flop floated faster!).
Nearby PLAYGROUNDS
Another great feature of 🏖 Arly-Plage is its proximity to TWO playgrounds!
🌈 Base de Loisirs des Belles – this playground is fabulous, and has so much to keep little (and bigger!) ones entertained! For more information, see MBFF article here;
🌈 small playground by the Arly river – a short buggy walk along the Berges d’Arly will bring you to the second playground, which is suitable for little ones (but not bigger children!).
Eating Options
The 💦 Berges d’Arly are well set-up for 🍏 picnics! You’ll find picnic tables and lots of green grass to spread your picnic blankets! You’ll also find some 🍗 BBQ grills!
🍪 Buvette de Belles – at the Base de Loisirs des Belles, you’ll find a café for snacks and drinks!
🥞 K-Bane – on the front de neige, you’ll find this restaurant!
You also have plenty of options for 🥗 restaurants in town!
Walking and Biking
The 💦 Berges d’Arly are fabulous for strolling (and 🚵♂️ draisiennes and biking for little ones) . . . there is lots of 🌳 shade and the path is flat!
There is a little bike park down by the river, and the paths are perfect for a buggy walk !
