The ⛷ Domaine Skiable des Planards, a two minute walk from the centre of town and with its own 🅿️ FREE parking, is one of Chamonix’s two Beginner ski areas (the other being at the Savoy slopes, connected to ⛷ Domaine Skiable de Brévent).
In addition, it is the site of the year-round 🛷 Chamonix-Luge Alpine Coaster, set within the 🌈 Parc des Attractions de Chamonix (re-opens in April).

Ski slopes
The ⛷ domaine skiable is comprised of:
- a magic carpet for children;
- a rope tow and jardin d’enfants run by ESF Chamonix;
- two drag-lifts;
- a four place chair-lift taking skiers up to 1249m altitude;
- skiers have access to two green, a blue and red run;
- ❄️ 45 snow cannons assure snow during the season;
Situated next to the 🚂 Montenvers train line, you can sometimes spot the little red cobble train heading up and down the hill as you ski!
🗺 ski passes: you can opt for a 4 hour, day or several day pass (with a descent in the luge included!), and there are family options.
🎿 ski hire: you can hire ski gear on site at the Sport 2000 shop: +33 (0)4 50 55 82 04;
⛷ ski and snowboarding lessons can be arranged through ESF Chamonix;

Chamonix-Luge Alpine Coaster
Opened in 2011, to replace the former summer toboggan, the 🛷 Chamonix-Luge Alpine Coaster can be enjoyed over the winter season! A track on rails 1300m long, with jumps, turns, and spins of 540° / open to everyone 3+ years. During the February holidays, on some days there is usually ⛷ night-time skiing and access to the luge until 21h . . .
le Snooc
⛷ Domaine des Planards allows you to try out the snooc – a new way to enjoy sliding on snow!
The snooc is a French invention – a lightweight hybrid contraption, somewhere in-between a luge (sledge) and skis . . .
It is available in two models: the descent model and the touring model (which turns itself into touring skis). All you’ll need to enjoy a descent are: ski clothing, gloves, and « après-ski » snow boots / note: for children 10+ years;
