PAYS du MONT-BLANC thermal baths & spas

There are plenty more 💦 spas, mostly attached to hotels, available 🏔 au Pays du Mont-Blanc . . .

And one fabulous 💦 thermal bath complex . . .

Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc (Parc Thermal, Le Fayet)

The historic 💦 Thermes de Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc, nestled at the bottom of the Parc Thermal next to a waterfall and surrounded by green trees, is famed for the curing properties of its thermal waters. Recently, the thermal baths were extensively renovated and re-branded by Loréal, and offer: an annotated parcours through the spa facilities, massages and medical cures. The thermal baths also sell their own produts.

💦 Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc are reserved for children 13+ years, but there are some fabulous options for families (you’ll need to reserve!). MBFF was invited to try the family session a couple of years ago, and the whole family adored the experience !

[ for read more about MBFF’s family session at 💦 Les Thermes, see separate article 💦 Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc en famille here ]

Here are the two family options :

  • « Accueil Famille » from 3 to 13 years;

🇨🇭 Les Bains de Saillon (Valais, Switerland)

[ note winter 2023 : the thermal river is currently SHUT, due to re-open soon ! ]

MBFF has been a few times to 💦 Les Bains de Saillon, as it is not too far away (about 1h drive from Chamonix), has restaurants on site and it accepts babies (we no longer have babies, but it was great when we did)! Set among terraced vineyards, with a view of the little castle atop the medieval bourg, this spa and aquatic centre has both indoor and outdoor attractions:

  • 💦 three thermal pools (32°C to 34°C);
  • 💦 a semi-Olympic pool (28°C);
  • 💦 a thermal river (120m long) due to re-open soon !

Some of the outdoor attractions will only open during the summer months (slide, etc . . .).

A 1h45 drive from Chamonix, the thermal town of Leukerbad / Loèche-les-Bains has a beautiful setting, amidst the snowy mountain peaks, and this spa town is a real escape! You’ll find several hotel complexes here, with their own thermal baths and spas, so you can have a proper family spa getaway!

The municipal spa offers :

  1. Do you know of any hotels in Chamonix with 25meter pools?

    Is the public pool there clean, bright and nice for lap swimming?

    Thank you

    1. Hello JP, I’m afraid that I don’t know the answer to that, but I would think not, as 25m is big! The public pool in Chamonix I have always found to be clean and the light shines through brightly for lap swimming (with a view of Mont-Blanc!). See here for more details: http://www.cc-valleedechamonixmontblanc.fr/index.php/sport/piscine-sauna-hammam.html

      There are also public pools, newly renovated, nearby in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Megève.
