Les Contamines has a great selection of playgrounds, all in the most beautiful setting!
Le Parc Patrice Dominguez
Le Parc Patrice Dominguez (formerly known as Parc de Loisirs des Pontets) is the largest leisure park in the Mont-Blanc area. I shall write in more detail about the whole leisure park in a later post, but for now let’s concentrate on the playground area! Right next to the small pedalo lake, this is a great playground comprising: climbing frame, a small climbing wall, a slide, swings, a tyrolienne . . . You’ll need to watch small children closely, as the playground is right next to the water’s edge, but older children can play happily while their parents have a quiet drink over at the café/restaurant (you are still able to keep an eye on the munchkins from here!).
In the summertime, in the park, are the bouncy castles and trampolines run by Laurent! Lots of fun here!
Aire de Jeux de l’Etape
It’s either a hike up the mountain or the Notre Dame de la Gorge cable-car that will get you to this playground at altitude! But what a splendid spot for a playground this is! Right next to the little lake (where you can paddle, swim or rent a small pedalo) and Hotel Restaurant Bar de l’Etape (more on our summer overnight treat here in a later post!), are two small play areas: a playground and a wooden adventure course.
