Over the last few years, 🥗 FOOD TRUCKS & FOOD HUTS have multiplied 🏔 au Pays du Mont-Blanc, and have become welcome additions to our mountain playground. You may have spotted them over the years – in ❄️ wintertime, on the ⛄️ fronts de neige and on the ⛷ ski pistes, by 🚡 télécabines and télésièges departure and arrival points, along main roads in designated spots, or perhaps a slot at a 🍏 market . . . and come 🌷 springtime and ☀️ summertime, some of them will move to new locations: 💦 lakes or perhaps another 🏔 mountain location . . .
Some can be seen feeding the visitors at 🎶 festivals and concerts, and some you can even book for private hire! They take the form of: airstreams, vans, wooden huts, Mongolian yurts, igloos and even a trailer painted to look like a 🚡 télécabine! Some serve the staples of 🍕 pizzas, 🍔 burgers, 🌭 saucisses & 🍟 frites . . . some offer 🍲 🥗 organic and 🍰 sweet treats, and some are ☕️ coffee specialists . . .
This year, in the bizarre times that we are experiencing, many restaurants have depended on serving takeaway food to their clients, in effect making them into foodhuts! Some have even added a food truck (or chenille!) to their shopfront!
It was really interesting (and fun!) researching this original article and learning the stories behind the food trucks and huts and the passion for food of those running them! Over the last couple of years, I have updated the article sporadically, with new additions and festivals!
So, here in this article, are the 🥗 FOOD TRUCKS and FOOD HUTS we have happened across on our MBFF adventures . . . I shall continue to add to this list au fur et à mesure . . .
[ 💵 good to know – many of these food trucks and huts won’t accept cards; so please be sure to bring enough small change! ]

Café Alpin ☕️ (Chamonix Valley)
I met with the ☕️ Café Alpin team a couple of summers ago at the Chamfest festival, and loved their coffee . . . their little fleet of blue vans now extends to THREE in Chamonix Valley at: 🚡 Brévent departure station, 🚡 Grands-Montets departure station and at the 🚂 Montenvers train station – and more vans are planned for the future, in other alpine resorts.
Café Alpin story: the the team behind ☕️ Café Alpin are coffee and ski enthusiasts, so they decided to bring quality Italian coffee, hot chocolate and English tea to the Alps – specifically to the lifts, to warm up the customers waiting in line! The ☕️ Café Alpin vans are blue Piaggio Ape and are produced by international designers in Italy, and their ☕️ coffee baristas come from all over the world, bringing with them their international know-how (from coffee meccas Italy, London and Sydney – masters of the finest coffee!) . . . as ☕️ Café Alpin puts it: ” As every country has its own little twist in coffee preparation, only by combining all of them together, we are able to create an extraordinary final product. Every single coffee that our baristas prepare is made with love and passion. They put their heart into it and take their time to prepare every drink. We will only serve a ☕️ perfect cup of coffee to our clients. It has to be the highest quality. It has to be extraordinary. Using our magical “snow white” cups in Alpine style, with a delicious coffee, tea or hot chocolate, we are creating a memorable experience for our clients “.
drinks served: ☕️ Café Alpin are coffee aficionados and they choose the highest quality coffee from Italy; they take their time to find the best quality products to satisfy their customers. They also serve hot chocolate, tea and small cakes;
