It’s that time of year when the little ones (and bigger ones) get dressed up (or refuse to, as my boys systematically did for a couple of years!) and take to the streets of our local towns and villages au Pays du Mont-Blanc (and beyond) to release their inner Rio de Janeiro dancing & musical energy!
Here is what is on au Pays du Mont-Blanc (in chronological order):
RDV: La Mutuelle, for the departure of the carnaval with musical instruments, percussion, whistles . . . followed by goûter (carnaval and goûter organised by l’Amicale Laïque des écoles du Plateau d’Assy) / more information: 06 83 01 25 59 or email@example.com;
What? face-painting, cake sale, parade, Zumba Kids . . . for profit of APE!
Theme? La Magie, organised by the FJEP!
15h: Parvis des Fiz for Spectacle Club des Mamans and then goûter / NB rain plan: parade has been cancelled due to bad weather forecast, and spectacle now at 15h / more information: 04 50 93 67 11 or firstname.lastname@example.org;
Theme? Viva Africa, organised by MJC!
Saint-Gervais-les-Bains had to cancel the original carnaval a few weeks back, due to copious rain . . . so let’s hope this second attempt yields better weather (the MJC says it has ordered some sun this time!)
organised by the associations de Sallanches, the parade and floats take to the streets of Sallanches to make lots of noise! / music from l’Harmonie municipale and dance show from Attitude Danse Studio / for children: Mamzelle Pastel face-painting (FREE!) and bouncy castles from Le Parc en Folie! / snacks: buvette, churros, barbe à papa; / *NB: traffic restrictions during parade!*
